Simulated instrument time may be logged under FAR 61.51(g) when performed in flight under a view-limiting device with a safety pilot, or in an approved aviation training device/flight simulator per 61.51(h). Simulated time counts toward instrument currency tasks in 61.57(c) when performed with an authorized instructor or safety pilot as required.
