Who we are

logbooksimple is operated by W Labs Code.

What data we collect

We collect the data you enter to keep a pilot logbook: flight details, aircraft information, crew names, licence number, and email address. We also store app preferences (theme, device id, consent flags) locally in your browser.

Legal basis for processing

Processing is necessary to perform our contract with you (providing the logbook service) and, where applicable, based on your consent (for example, AI-assisted features).

How we use your data

  • To store, sync, and display your logbook across devices.
  • To send transactional emails (sign-up confirmation, password resets).
  • To provide optional AI features when you explicitly opt in.

Subprocessors and third parties

We rely on the following service providers:

  • Supabase — authentication, Postgres database, and file storage.
  • Vercel — hosting, serverless compute, and privacy-respecting aggregate analytics.
  • Upstash — rate-limiting metadata for AI endpoints.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery.
  • Groq (or another AI provider) — processing natural-language questions when you opt into Dispatchai.

AI addendum

When you enable Dispatchai, a limited set of recent flight data (dates, airports, aircraft type, and flight times and counts) is sent to a third-party AI provider to answer your logbook questions. Names, aircraft registrations, and remarks are not included in logbook Q&A. If you import a CSV, up to three sample rows are sent to map your columns, with names, registrations, and remarks redacted beforehand. You can opt out at any time from Settings or by revoking AI consent.

Retention

Flight data and account information are kept until you delete your account. Local data remains on your device until you clear your browser storage or delete your account.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict processing of, or delete your personal data. Use the Settings page to exercise these rights.
