When can I log SIC time under FAA rules?

Per FAR 61.51(f), you may log SIC time when you hold the appropriate category/class/type ratings and either (1) the aircraft type requires more than one pilot, or (2) operations regulations require a SIC. The SIC must also meet 61.55 if no type rating is required.
