When can I log PIC time under FAA rules?

Under FAR 61.51(e), a pilot may log PIC time when they are the sole manipulator of the controls of an aircraft for which they are rated, or are the sole occupant, or are acting as PIC of an aircraft requiring more than one pilot. Sport and recreational pilots have additional limits.
